Milan-based FONDAMENTA, founded in 2016, is run by Francesca Gagliardi and Federico Rossi.

FONDAMENTA questions conventions and supports contradictions. Strong is the belief in research and experimentation applied to construction. The premises for FONDAMENTA’s work are fascination for structure, freedom from any prejudice and the belief that no force is indomitable. Surrealism reigns supreme. Building is to FONDAMENTA the end to which architecture must strive to become itself. Governance of architecture through technology is believed to be the key to the creation of an organism. In 2019 the studio completed its first new building, the Winery of Monforte d’Alba, and is currently dealing with the construction of a domestic infrastructure masterplan in Sicily.
